Residential treatment for teens built around adolescent development
This residential program is for adolescents ages 12–18 with substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns, including those involved with the courts. The structured environment helps teens embrace responsibility, accountability, social skills, and healthier routines while attending treatment alongside peers at a similar developmental stage. Treatment itself uses a modified therapeutic community model that combines positive peer interactions, organized work structure, vocational and life skills, and reflection.
Treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions
A range of treatments is available to support teens with substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns. Individual and group therapy are a significant part of treatment; however, treatment goes beyond counseling to include anger management, health and prevention education, and teen and domestic violence workshops. Nursing and psychiatric care are provided, and MAT is available when clinically indicated. Family counseling is also available, with services offered for siblings.
Integrated full-day education
Teens attend school full time on-site through the New York City Department of Education. In addition to educational support, teens also learn vocational and life skills to prepare for life outside of treatment.
Aftercare to support a return to home and school
After completing residential treatment, teens can transition to an aftercare program at the organization’s Greenpoint outpatient location to help them continue sustaining the progress they made when in treatment. Clients and their families can participate in outpatient counseling, helping to ease the transition back to home, school, and the community.
