Structured, Peer-Driven Residential Recovery

Odyssey Manor IR 2 – Adult Program provides long-term residential treatment in East Harlem for adult men seeking recovery from substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders, including those involved with the criminal justice system. Operated by Odyssey House Inc., this nonprofit program emphasizes structure, accountability, and community. Residents engage in a peer-supported environment that promotes resilience, confidence, and real-world readiness through both clinical and life-skills-based approaches.

Comprehensive Medical and Behavioral Health Care

The program integrates evidence-based therapies with on-site medical and dental services. Licensed clinicians deliver cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, anger management, relapse prevention, and trauma-informed counseling. Medical care includes HIV, STD, and TB screening, hepatitis education and vaccination, and naloxone and overdose prevention education. Medications for addiction treatment (MAT), including buprenorphine and naltrexone, are available, and clients using MAT prescribed elsewhere are also accepted.

Education, Wellness, and Vocational Growth

Recovery at Odyssey Manor includes opportunities to rebuild daily structure and independence. Residents can pursue high school equivalency preparation, job training, and employment counseling while developing healthy habits through fitness and wellness programs. Cultural and recreational activities complement therapy, helping participants strengthen discipline, connection, and purpose as they prepare for life after treatment.

Ongoing Support and Community Integration

Odyssey House views recovery as a lifelong journey. Upon completion, residents can access transitional housing, outpatient services, and the Odyssey House Recovery Network, a peer-based system offering mentorship and continued encouragement. The facility promotes stable reintegration into the community through discharge planning, housing assistance, and peer support. Smoking is permitted in designated areas, while vaping is not allowed.
