Keeping Up with Teen Learning
Teens between the ages of 12-18 attend a full-day, on-site Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) program so academics continue during treatment. The residential schedule includes vocational and life-skills preparation—such as workplace readiness and daily living skills—integrated with structured responsibilities and positive peer interactions.
Empowering Teens in Their Communities
The program offers education and prevention/health awareness groups, anger management, and workshops addressing domestic/teen violence. After residential care, an aftercare track provides outpatient counseling for adolescents and their families to support the transition home, back to school, and into the community.
Clinical Treatment Approach
Care is delivered in a modified therapeutic community model that combines organized responsibilities, peer support, and reflective counseling. Services include individual, group, and family therapy. As clinically indicated, youth may access nursing and psychiatric care and medications for addiction treatment (MAT).
Campus Designed for Learning and Engagement
The program is located on Outreach’s Crooked Hill Road campus in Brentwood, Suffolk County. The campus includes shared bedrooms with bunk beds, desks for study, indoor common/lounge areas, dining areas, healthy meals, an indoor basketball court, and an outdoor patio area.
