Residential Care for Latino Men

Hector Reyes House provides long-term residential treatment for Latino men. The program integrates bilingual medical care with evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and relapse prevention. Residents also benefit from Spanish language services and peer support, all within a culturally informed, community-based environment.

Phased Pathway to Independence

Recovery unfolds across a six-month structure designed to support lasting change. The first month focuses on building routine and abstinence skills within the residence. In the second and third months, residents begin pursuing employment and community activities while developing sober social networks. The final phase emphasizes independent living, with relapse-prevention strategies and coping tools to help sustain recovery after discharge.

Education, Work, and Whole-Person Support

Programming extends beyond therapy to address the broader challenges that impact recovery. Residents can participate in ESL classes, GED preparation, physical fitness, nutrition education, and spirituality groups. Vocational training and employment counseling are paired with a unique work-to-defray-cost model that provides hands-on experience and supports financial stability. Social-skills groups, fatherhood programs, parenting support, and family therapy help strengthen relationships and build practical life skills.

Community Connection and Admissions

Residents contribute through community service projects and cultural activities, creating new sober networks while giving back to Worcester. Transportation assistance helps ensure access to appointments and work opportunities. Admission requires completion of detox and step-down care before referral by a social service professional. Self-referrals are not accepted, and the program cannot admit individuals requiring intensive medical or psychiatric supervision.
