Medication-Based Treatment
Crossroads offers a range of FDA-approved medications for addiction treatment (MAT) for opioid and alcohol use disorders. Some may be administered in daily doses, and others come in injectable form and last longer; given every week or month. Options may include Buprenorphine (Rx), Sublocade, Vivitrol, and Brixadi. Clinicians assess clients to find what may work best for them, taking into account any personal health requirements.
“Patients are seen frequently — especially early in treatment — to provide strong support when it matters most.” — Crossroads Chief Medical Officer, Dr. James Stephen
Counseling and Peer Support
Along with medications, Crossroads offers counseling and peer support services. There is extra attention paid to how substance use may correlate to co-occurring mental health conditions. Counseling can be arranged in person or virtually and adapted to individual needs. Sessions are designed to help build coping skills, provide motivation, and support long-term recovery overall. Peer support is led by staff who are in recovery and who can connect with clients regarding lived experiences.
“Our care is personalized, compassionate, and built on partnership — because lasting recovery happens when people feel supported and understood.” — Crossroads Chief Medical Officer, Dr. James Stephen
Working with a Multidisciplinary Team
Nurses, counselors, care managers, providers, and patient ambassadors all work together to make sure clients get their needs met. Clients frequently see the same team members; this helps build trusting relationships and provides stability during treatment. During the first visit to Crossroads, the team takes time to get to know the person and take detailed assessments. They will explain processes and next steps so people feel comfortable with their care plans and medication schedules. People also receive naloxone overdose education; a vital component of safety during high-risk times.
Flexible, Accessible Care
Crossroads’ mission is to help people get the care they need and keep receiving treatment even when life circumstances change or become difficult. Those who do not have reliable transportation or need care from home for any reason can use an online platform to schedule virtual visits. A hybrid combination of in-person and remote visits is available to clients as well.
“Our model is designed to be flexible, low‑barrier, and centered on helping patients succeed.” — Crossroads Chief Medical Officer, Dr. James Stephen
Help with Practical Needs
Assistance is provided to people who are facing unstable housing situations or employment challenges. Care coordinators partner with community services to connect clients to needed resources. People can also be directed to information for finding free or reduced-cost food and housing options, along with other services.
Instant Intakes
Through Crossroads’ instant intake program, clients can get a same-call virtual appointment with a care provider — often in less than 10 minutes. The care provider will complete an evaluation, and depending on circumstances, can send a prescription for MAT straight to the client’s pharmacy. A follow-up visit will be scheduled within seven days to make sure all is going well and provide next steps. This way, those who are experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms do not have to wait.
