Women-Focused Care Rooted in Community

Phoenix Hall is part of a nonprofit organization in Traverse City that centers women in treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions. Its women-focused approach is shaped by compassion, dignity, and stigma reduction, with programming that also includes support for pregnant and postpartum women.

Trauma-Informed Treatment With MAT

The program combines trauma-related counseling with evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, anger management, substance use counseling, telehealth therapy, and 12-step facilitation. It also provides medications for addiction treatment (MAT), including buprenorphine and naltrexone, along with medication support for alcohol use disorder and co-occurring mental health needs.

Recovery Support That Extends Beyond Therapy

Phoenix Hall goes beyond counseling by offering services that support day-to-day stability during and after treatment, including case management, peer mentoring, recovery coaching, family counseling, housing services, transportation assistance, employment counseling, educational support, help accessing social services, discharge planning, aftercare, and naloxone and overdose education. It also offers residential beds for clients’ children, helping clients balance recovery with parenting responsibilities.

Restorative Setting and Continued Access to Care

Outdoor space, gardens, access to nature, relaxation areas, and healthy meals give the program a more restorative feel than a strictly clinical setting. A typical residential stay runs about four weeks, with length of care based on individual needs. Residential admissions are currently paused as Addiction Treatment Services prepares a new treatment facility, and women’s intensive outpatient, health clinic, and withdrawal management services continue in Traverse City during that transition.
