24-Hour Medically Supervised Detox
The P.I.E.R. (Promoting Integrated & Engaged Recovery), operated by Addiction Treatment Services in Traverse City, provides residential, 24-hour withdrawal management in a supportive clinical setting. Clients receive medical monitoring, rest, light exercise, and structured routines that promote safety and comfort. Detox services address alcohol, opioid, stimulant, and benzodiazepine dependence using evidence-based care and medications to manage symptoms and reduce risk during stabilization.
Integrated Care for Dual Recovery
The program combines mental health and substance use treatment to meet clients’ full range of needs. Evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, trauma-related counseling, and relapse prevention help clients manage co-occurring conditions, build coping skills, and prepare for continued treatment after detox.
Evidence-Based Medication Support
Medications for addiction treatment (MAT), including buprenorphine and naltrexone, are used to relieve withdrawal symptoms and lower relapse risk for opioid and alcohol use disorders. Clinical staff coordinate with prescribing providers to ensure consistent, safe care during and after detox, supporting a seamless transition into longer-term recovery programs.
Practical and Family-Focused Support
Beyond medical care, the P.I.E.R. offers case management, transportation assistance, employment counseling, and housing coordination to strengthen stability post-detox. Acupuncture and other supportive therapies promote relaxation, while residential beds for clients’ children make treatment accessible to parents. As part of a nonprofit network with over 40 years of community service, the program reflects a compassionate, trauma-informed approach rooted in dignity and respect.
