Community-Based Outpatient Care in Palestine

ACCESS – Palestine provides outpatient treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults across Anderson and Cherokee counties. Care includes counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), telehealth, and medication management, with capacity to prescribe and monitor a broad range of psychiatric medications for serious mental illness. Services are offered in English and Spanish, making care accessible for more families.

Structured Substance Use Counseling

Substance use treatment follows a consistent format: weekly group counseling and individual sessions every other week for about three months. Clients receive a certificate upon completion and a follow-up contact within 60–90 days, reinforcing accountability and long-term stability. This clear structure helps people balance treatment with work, school, or family commitments.

Crisis Intervention and Family Programs

A Mobile Crisis Outreach Team responds to urgent needs such as suicidal thoughts or psychosis, working closely with schools, hospitals, and law enforcement. Walk-in and mobile services give families immediate access to care. Family and Youth Success (FAYS) coaching and the YES Waiver expand community-based options for children and adolescents with serious mental health needs, strengthening families and preventing crises before they escalate.

Practical Supports and Specialized Services

ACCESS ensures treatment is not limited by ability to pay, with a sliding fee scale, payment assistance, and acceptance of public and private insurance. Specialized supports include court-ordered counseling, veteran peer services, assertive community treatment, intensive case management, supported employment, and housing services. While the clinic does not provide transportation, its strong community partnerships help clients connect with resources that support recovery beyond the therapy room.
