Home-Like Residential Setting in Coastal Homer

Compass serves adult men in a private home setting in Homer. The environment is intentionally small and personal, with views of the surrounding landscape. Clients stay in private or shared rooms and have access to comfortable common spaces, such as indoor and outdoor relaxation areas, a kitchen and dining space for meals, and a quiet reading area.

Faith-Based Mind-Body-Spirit Care With Clinical Therapy

Treatment blends spiritual principles with proven clinical and therapeutic techniques. Services include comprehensive assessments, individual and group counseling, trauma-informed treatment, and care for co-occurring substance use and mental health needs. Approaches may include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, anger management, and 12-step facilitation. Compass also accepts clients who are using medications for addiction treatment (MAT) when prescribed elsewhere.

Residential Support for Men and Fathers With Young Children

Compass is designed for adult men, including some fathers who may be able to bring children under age 10 when custody and availability allow. The program partners with community agencies to help maintain healthier family relationships during treatment, an option that can matter for men who want to stay connected to parenting responsibilities while they focus on recovery.

Structure, Practical Skills, and Planning for What’s Next

Daily life includes structured activities that reinforce routine and successful living techniques. Alongside counseling, clients receive case management and recovery support services such as peer support, help accessing social services, housing-related support, and employment counseling or training. Continuing care and discharge planning are part of the program, with follow-up after discharge and overdose education to support a safer transition out of residential care.
