A Purposeful, Farm-Based Setting

The facility provides a quiet, structured environment for adults seeking recovery from substance use and co-occurring disorders. Clients participate in farming and daily activities that support both the land and their own healing. The calm, rural surroundings allow individuals to step away from daily distractions and focus on rebuilding their lives through meaningful work and connection.

Strong 12-Step Foundation

Treatment integrates evidence-based counseling and 12-Step recovery, encouraging clients to engage in meditation, reflection, and participation in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings both on and off-site. Each client works with counselors to develop a personalized plan to help reach their recovery goals. The program emphasizes shared responsibility and supportive peer relationships.

Integrated Health and Medications for Addiction Treatment (MAT)

Depending on individual needs, clients may be prescribed medications for addiction treatment (MAT) for opioid use and alcohol use disorder. Onsite services include clinical testing along with hepatitis vaccinations and basic medical monitoring. A licensed nurse and medical staff oversee medication management and can coordinate visits with doctors and psychiatrists.

Skills, Work, and Vocational Training

Work therapy and vocational education are central to the treatment philosophy. Clients participate in farming, maintenance, and other structured work activities that promote self-reliance and practical skill-building. Vocational training and employment counseling help clients prepare for stable, independent living after treatment. Life skills training emphasizes budgeting, communication, and problem-solving. Group and family counseling sessions are held to help clients reconnect with loved ones and establish supportive social networks.

Food, Fitness, and Recreation

Fresh fruits and vegetables are available daily, and snacks are offered between meals. The facility includes an indoor gym with weights and cardio equipment, along with outdoor volleyball, pickleball, and basketball courts. Clients can also participate in group outings such as trips to the Alaska State Fair, movies, or local community events.

Transitional Housing and Outpatient Care

Graduates of the residential program may choose to continue their recovery in gender-specific transitional housing on the property. The center’s outpatient services offer a step-down level of care for ongoing therapy and support. Aftercare includes relapse prevention, peer mentoring, recovery coaching, and participation in self-help groups. Clients also receive overdose prevention education and naloxone training.
