Short-Term Stabilization in a Safe, Supervised Setting

The program is designed as a short-term stay, with most clients remaining for about 7 to 14 days. Semi-private rooms and shared spaces are arranged to balance privacy with the close supervision that is often needed during a crisis. A typical day can include individual, group, and family or couples counseling, structured activities, meals, and time to rest.

Integrated Mental Health and Substance Use Support

Care addresses both mental health conditions and substance use, including co-occurring disorders. Clinical staff use evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, trauma-related counseling, and 12-step facilitation, along with substance use disorder counseling and education. The center provides medical withdrawal support, routinely using medication to manage symptoms and reduce health risks. The center also offers mental health services and can incorporate medications for addiction treatment (MAT) either on site or in coordination with outside prescribers, while accepting clients whose medications are managed elsewhere.

Services for Diverse Populations And Complex Needs

The center serves a wide range of adults, including young adults, men and women, pregnant and postpartum women, older adults, veterans, active-duty military, and members of military families. Programming is available for people with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, co-occurring pain and substance use, HIV or AIDS, and those who have experienced sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, or other trauma. Clients involved with the criminal justice system can also receive support.

Planning For Recovery Beyond Crisis

From the start, staff work with clients to plan for life after discharge. Services include comprehensive mental health and substance use assessments, discharge planning, aftercare and continuing-care referrals, naloxone and overdose education, and follow-up after discharge. Case management can help clients connect with housing resources, assistance with social services, self-help groups, and employment counseling or training. Financial barriers are addressed through payment assistance, a sliding fee scale, and a stated commitment not to refuse services based on inability to pay, while transportation assistance helps clients reach the facility and follow-up appointments.

Client Reviews

Many clients describe meaningful help from staff and positive early recovery outcomes. Some concerns focus on communication with families, admission decisions, and discharge processes.

  • Staff & Care Experience (70% positive): A majority of reviewers describe staff as patient, kind, and supportive, particularly during intake or moments of crisis. Several people credit staff members with helping them feel calmer and more hopeful. A few reviews report negative interactions, especially during phone calls with concerned family members. “Some of the best staff you could ever have — you helped me in more ways than you know.”
  • Treatment Quality & Outcomes (75% positive): Many former clients say the program played a critical role in helping them stop using substances and transition into longer-term recovery supports, such as halfway houses or continued treatment. Others, mostly family members, report that treatment did not lead to improvement or felt incomplete. “They saved my life. I’ve been clean for over a year now.”
  • Access & Process (45% positive): Some people report getting help quickly once connected to the right staff member, while others describe confusion, lack of information, or difficulty advocating for a loved one during critical moments.
  • Support & Community (80% positive): Many reviews highlight peer support, referrals to step-down care, and encouragement to continue recovery after discharge. Reviewers who stayed engaged with recovery frequently describe the program as an important starting point. “They helped me get clean and into a halfway house — this place gave me another chance at life.”
