Who is this facility a good fit for?

  • Best fit if: Adult men struggling with sex addiction, co-occurring substance use or mental health disorders, pornography addiction, gaming addiction, or compulsive relationship behaviors; want trauma-focused treatment that addresses root causes rather than only symptom management; are interested in therapies such as EMDR, somatic therapies, psychodrama, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and equine therapy; value privacy, individualized attention, and a quieter residential setting with a lower client volume; or are seeking a structured but non-hospital treatment environment.
  • Not a fit if: Individuals seeking minimal structure or optional participation during treatment; want co-ed residential programming; are looking primarily for acute psychiatric stabilization or a hospital-based environment rather than trauma-focused residential care; prefer short-term detox or brief support without longer-term therapeutic work; are uncomfortable with some experiential therapies, or group-based emotional processing; or need a lower-cost treatment option.

What to expect

Developing your care plan

  • Initial assessment and treatment planning: In the first few days of treatment, staff will assess clients to learn about trauma histories, compulsive behaviours, mental health symptoms, substance use issues, and clinical needs. Evaluations can include psychiatric evaluations, nursing evaluations, biopsychosocial assessments, trauma assessments, a physical examination, and psychological testing. After completing these assessments, the clinical team collaborates to create a treatment plan tailored to each client rather than a one-size-fits-all program.
  • Ongoing reassessment and adjustments: The treatment team meets regularly to go over the client's care plan. They talk about ongoing treatment and decide on the next steps for care and whether enough progress has been made for discharge. They will also decide if continued residential care may be beneficial.

Who you will meet with

  • Medical, psychiatric, and clinical support staff: Clients receive support from medical, psychiatric, and clinical staff, including psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, 24-hour nursing staff, primary therapists, and master-level therapists. The treatment team helps clients at each care phase. They offer psychiatric evaluations, manage medications, monitor withdrawal, provide trauma-focused therapy, create individualized treatment plans, and reassess progress during treatment.
  • Wellness and experiential support staff: Individuals can work with group therapists, wellness staff, equine therapy facilitators, art therapists, dietitians, and other support staff. Programming might feature equine therapy, yoga, tai chi, acupuncture, nutrition support, art therapy, and other wellness approaches.

Typical schedule

  • Structured daily programming: A strict daily routine is in place. Clients wake up at the same time each day. Meal times are set, and they have several therapy sessions or group activities daily. Individuals must take part in all residential programming. Daily programs can include group therapy, individual therapy, trauma-focused group therapy, skills-building groups, experiential therapies, and wellness-oriented activities.
  • Wellness, recreation, and downtime: There are ample opportunities to participate in wellness and recreational activities including yoga, tai chi, fitness, walking, swimming, and art. The care team works with clients to identify and develop healthy methods for managing unstructured downtime as a part of the client's overall recovery.

Living experiences and amenities

  • Campus environment and residential setting: Clients reside at a 35-acre desert campus for a quieter, retreat-style experience. Lengths of stay may be extended based on clinical needs and treatment progress. Clients share rooms and bathrooms, creating a communal living space.
  • Amenities, recreation, and wellness-focused living: Clients can use facilities such as a gym, swimming pool, lounge spaces, a volleyball court, walkways, a meditation path, labyrinth, an art room, and a ropes course. These provide leisure and treatment support. Meals are prepared fresh daily, and there is an emphasis on reducing the amount of processed food used in meals.

Aftercare

  • Continuing care and recovery support: Post-treatment focus is on providing a plan for continuing recovery and assisting the client in their transition from residential to outpatient or other forms of community-based recovery. Relapse prevention planning, peer support, 12-step facilitation, and ongoing recovery support help clients return to daily life while staying focused on their long-term recovery goals.

The representative took time to answer questions thoroughly without sounding overly scripted. Even after a couple of disconnected calls, the representative stayed patient, helpful, and willing to continue the conversation.
