Specialized care for veterans
Woodlands Recovery Center provides focused care for veterans. Programming is adapted to veterans’ specific needs, which may include post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and reintegration challenges. Program liaisons can work directly with Veterans Affairs (VA) to help veterans through the admissions process. Through this program, veterans can recover alongside peers with shared life experiences.
Therapies, wellness, and peer support
Clients participate in a blend of clinical therapies and wellness activities. Treatment is designed for those with substance use disorders, and also for those with co-occurring mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression. During the admissions process, clients receive mental health evaluations to determine if co-occurring care is required. Daily schedules include a mix of CBT, DBT, 12-Step meetings, fitness, mindfulness, and recreation. A swimming pool is on-site, as well as spaces for sports like volleyball.
Detox, residential, and step-down outpatient treatment
Treatment can begin with medical withdrawal management (detox) for those who need it. This stage involves continuous medical monitoring to make sure clients are safe and as comfortable as possible. Medications for addiction treatment (MAT) can be prescribed when needed to help ease withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Residential treatment usually lasts approximately 30 days, though this can be adjusted depending on individual circumstances. After residential care, staff can connect clients with outpatient programs including a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and intensive outpatient program (IOP) as they work their way toward independent living.
Long-term alumni support
An alumni program is offered for graduates to keep in touch and receive continued support. The alumni network hosts both in-person and virtual events and support groups. A text-based system called EMBRK sends graduates reminders and provides an easy way to stay in communication with program leaders and keep up-to-date on events.
