Women’s Residential Treatment

The women-only residence provides a safe and structured setting for long-term recovery. Women who are pregnant are accepted and can receive care on a case-by-case basis. Typical stays last 12–18 months, allowing time to stabilize, build coping skills, and address underlying issues that fuel substance use. Care is delivered in a trauma-informed environment with gender-specific programming. Optional spiritual programming is offered.

Trauma-Informed, Evidence-Based Care

Treatment blends proven therapies with compassionate, individualized support. Residents participate in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, and 12-step facilitation. Trauma-informed counseling creates a safe space for women who have experienced violence, abuse, or other traumatic events. Group and individual sessions focus on understanding the roots of addiction while practicing new strategies for managing stress, anger, and relationships.

Medications and Integrated Primary Health

The center can prescribe medications for addiction treatment (MAT) when needed as part of comprehensive care. The program also supports women who use medications prescribed elsewhere. Nicotine replacement therapy, overdose education, and naloxone training are provided. Primary care services and coordination are also available. This ensures women have the layered support they need, especially those who may not have had consistent access to medical services before treatment.

Life Skills, Vocational Support, and Community Service

Beyond clinical care, the center emphasizes preparing women for independent living. The program offers workshops on life skills such as communication, conflict resolution, and parenting. Vocational training and educational support, including GED preparation, help women prepare for employment and long-term stability. Community service is a core element of the program, designed to encourage accountability and connection. Residents also participate in a mentoring program that pairs them with volunteers for ongoing guidance.

Family Engagement and Legal System Partnerships

The center actively involves families in the recovery process through workshops, activities, and special events. This focus supports reunification for mothers working to regain custody or rebuild connections with children and loved ones. The program also partners with local courts, probation and parole, and child welfare agencies to support residents in addressing legal and family obligations.

Aftercare and Recovery Community

From the beginning of treatment, women work with staff to develop discharge and aftercare plans adapted to their needs. The alumni program creates ongoing opportunities for connection, with past graduates often returning to mentor or encourage current residents. Referrals to outpatient services, housing resources, and spiritual or peer recovery networks extend support beyond the residence.
