High-Intensity Residential Care for Adults
Amity is an American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) 3.5 level program offering clinically managed, high-intensity residential care for adults with substance use issues or co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. Medications for addiction treatment (MAT) and mental health can be administered when needed. The program is voluntary and operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, giving clients consistent structure and support while they focus on recovery.
Integrated Treatment for Substance Use and Mental Health
As part of Westbrook Health Services’ substance use division, Amity provides integrated care for people living with both substance use and serious mental health concerns. Clients receive substance use disorder counseling along with therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, contingency management, Matrix Model, and relapse prevention. The program also offers suicide prevention services so clients can work on safety, mood, and substance use within one coordinated plan.
Trauma-Informed Therapy and Life Skills Support
Trauma-related counseling and trauma-specific therapies are core parts of care for clients who have experienced difficult or harmful events. Individual and group counseling are paired with education on substance use, overall health, HIV, hepatitis, and smoking or vaping. Social skills development, anger management, and life skills work help clients rebuild routines, communication, and confidence. Self-help groups and mentoring or peer support connect clients with others who understand what they are going through.
Practical Support for Daily Life
Beyond therapy, Amity offers recovery support that extends into daily life. Case management, housing services, and assistance with obtaining social services can help clients stabilize their living situations and access benefits that make it easier to stay in care and maintain recovery after discharge. Transportation assistance can help clients get to appointments. The program offers payment assistance options, including a sliding fee scale based on income and other factors.
