Luxury residential treatment supports adolescents ages 12 to 17 in a 10-bed home, combining mental health and substance use care with daily virtual schooling. Youth receive individual, group, and family therapy with psychiatric care and trauma-informed approaches, including evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Experiential therapies may include music, art, and recreational therapy. Two teens share a bedroom, and aftercare planning helps families prepare for the transition home.

Who is this facility a good fit for?

  • Best fit if: Adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 who need residential support; are experiencing mental health or substance use concerns; families concerned about their youth being able to continue school during treatment; and parents who are seeking meaningful involvement in care.

  • Not a fit if: Adults or young adults ages 18 and older; youth whose needs can be adequately addressed through outpatient care; families seeking a partial hospitalization program, an intensive outpatient program, or outpatient treatment; and youth unwilling or unable to take part in group programming.

What to expect

Developing your care plan

  • Admission and clinical assessment: Prior to admission, parents take part in a 45- to 60-minute phone assessment that covers initial clinical and medical information. A clinical director and medical director determine whether the program is a good fit for the client.
  • Care planning based on individual needs: Care plans take into account mental health diagnoses, substance use concerns, family dynamics, behavioral and emotional regulation needs, and personal goals. Plans are reviewed regularly and adjusted as the client’s needs change.

Who you will meet with

  • Dedicated therapeutic support: Clients work with designated master’s-level therapists as well as licensed adolescent therapists during treatment. The small residential census of 10 allows clinicians to monitor progress and adapt care as clients progress.
  • Psychiatric and daily support: Psychiatric care and medication management may be available when determined to be appropriate. This is organized through a partnership with Nevada Mental Health. Nursing staff and behavioral technicians provide additional support to clients during their stay.

Typical schedule

  • Treatment built around school: Days typically begin with group therapy followed by virtual schooling, with treatment taking place around scheduled academics. The facility creates a predictable routine that includes individual therapy, group sessions, psychiatric care when appropriate, and experiential activities while helping clients practice coping skills and emotional regulation.
  • Co-occurring and experiential care: Care supports clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns through evidence-based care such as CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care. Music, art, and recreational therapy give clients the opportunity to express themselves and take part in treatment beyond traditional therapy sessions.
  • Family involvement: Family therapy is incorporated into treatment to improve parent-teen communication, reduce conflict, and establish healthier relationships. Parents are considered active participants in care while the facility focuses on maintaining client privacy and therapeutic boundaries.

Living experiences and amenities

  • A home-like residential setting: Clients stay in a comfort-focused, home-like residence in shared bedrooms that include an attached private bathroom and shower.
  • Indoor and outdoor recreation: The facility campus may include a swimming pool, basketball hoop, pool table, shared living areas, and outdoor gathering spaces.

Aftercare

  • Planning for continued care: Discharge and aftercare planning begin during treatment. This includes the care team connecting clients to outpatient providers in the area or in the client’s home community to support continuing care after finishing the residential program.
  • Preparing for the return home: Families receive additional guidance on how to maintain structure and support recovery once the client returns home. This may include relapse prevention and emotional regulation strategies that the client develops during treatment.
