Residential Treatment for Teens

This location offers a small, structured residential setting in a quiet, rural environment, designed to help teens focus on recovery away from day-to-day triggers. The Waldo Campus is dedicated to adolescent residential treatment for ages 14–17, including a safe, supervised setting and programming that emphasizes emotional regulation, coping skills, education support, and family involvement.

A Rural, Home-Like Setting With Built-In Structure

The campus is wooded and private, with a non-institutional, home-like feel. Living accommodations may include private or shared bedrooms depending on availability and clinical need, along with daily meals and a supportive routine. Outdoor space is part of the environment, with areas suited for walking, reflection, and downtime — helpful for clients who do better with calm surroundings and fewer distractions. New clients may also be paired with a peer “buddy” to support the transition into treatment.

Trauma-Informed Care and Support for Co-Occurring Conditions

Care plans are trauma-informed and holistic, aiming to address physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. Services include medically supervised withdrawal management (detox), residential treatment, and support for co-occurring substance use and mental health concerns. Counseling options include individual, group, and family therapy, along with relapse prevention and life skills development. Approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, anger management, and 12-step facilitation, with telehealth therapy available.

Family Connection and Step-Down Support

Family involvement is a consistent part of care. The program offers weekly Saturday family groups, and the adolescent track includes an additional midweek family group and visitation opportunity on Wednesdays, which includes dinner and time together. After residential treatment, Pathways offers step-down support through outpatient programming, which can include weekly individual therapy and uses CBT and rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT) groups. Transportation support is available, including rides to day treatment.
