The Manor provides personalized, trauma-focused residential treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns. The program is led by a nationally recognized clinical team, and clients receive a high level of individual therapy that supports deep, meaningful progress. Set within two private homes in Wisconsin’s Kettle Moraine Forest, The Manor’s campus features spacious grounds, private suites, and chef-prepared meals. The Manor takes an integrated and holistic approach, looking at each person as a whole and helping them uncover and heal the trauma that often fuels addiction. The Manor recognizes that the entire family — and anyone who plays a key role in the individual’s life — is vital to the healing process. Because each family is unique, treatment is also unique and highly tailored. The Manor is a self-pay program.

Who is this facility a good fit for?

  • Best fit if: Adults who are medically stable and not in need of medical detox; professionals and executives looking for private accommodations; want a small program size with a high level of individual attention; going through life transitions; open to daily therapy and holistic wellness activities; able to self-pay.

  • Not a fit if: Those who require acute, hospital-level care or medical detox; looking for a city-based setting; unwilling to live on campus for at least six weeks; need outpatient-only or self-directed treatment; have Medicaid, Medicare, or are uninsured and unable to self-pay.

What to expect

Developing your care plan

  • Admission and arrival: The care team conducts a phone assessment, including a review of medical records and treatment history. Once clients arrive, staff complete a thorough evaluation which is used to create a personalized treatment plan.
  • Adapted, collaborative treatment planning: Goals are discussed collaboratively between staff and clients and reviewed regularly. The program has a minimum of six-week stay.
  • Evidence-based therapies: Plans may include therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), somatic therapy, and ketamine-assisted therapy when appropriate.

Who you will meet with

  • Care team: Because the program has only 11 clients, individuals work closely with a small multidisciplinary team.
  • Therapists: Each client meets with a primary therapist for daily one-on-one therapy and ongoing treatment planning.
  • Psychiatrists and clinicians: A psychiatrist and nurse practitioners oversee mental health care, including prescribing medications when needed.
  • Family therapist: When desired by the client, therapists support family involvement and facilitate communication.
  • Additional staff: Clients may also meet with holistic practitioners such as personal trainers, yoga practitioners, and massage therapists.

Typical schedule

  • Daytime: Most days include individual therapy sessions (clients receive six hours of individual therapy a week), about three hours of group therapy, and wellness and recovery activities.
  • Holistic activities: Yoga, meditation, massage therapy, and fitness sessions may be scheduled throughout the day.
  • Culinary program: Meals are prepared by executive chefs and can be adapted to accommodate dietary specifications. Healthy snacks are on hand.
  • Evenings: Clients participate in community time, movie nights, or occasional outings.

Living experiences and amenities

  • Forested estate campus: Clients stay in one of two large residential homes set on 40 wooded acres with plenty of outdoor space to relax among nature.
  • Private bedrooms: All clients stay in private bedrooms and have the option of either shared bathrooms or private ensuites.
  • Indoor relaxation: Peers can spend time together in a living room, library, and gathering rooms, as well as enjoy an on-site movie theater.
  • Wellness and recreation: The Manor has a fully equipped gym, yoga and meditation spaces, and an outdoor pool clients can use during warmer months.

Aftercare

  • Early planning: Staff collaborate with clients to make sure clients are set up for life after treatment. Discharge planning often begins within the first few weeks.
  • Recovery support: The care team can help clients arrange ongoing therapy, psychiatric care, and recovery coaching.

Cost and insurance

  • Cost: The Manor is a 6-week, self-pay program that costs $75,000 - $102,000.
  • Provider’s policy: The Manor can bill most PPO insurance plans as an out-of-network provider. They're able to help clients review and obtain the out-of-network benefits they may have through their insurance plan. The Manor does not accept Medicare, Medicaid, or any state funded insurance policies.
