Family-Centered Daily Routines

The program is built around helping fathers stay engaged in treatment while continuing to parent. Regular community meetings allow fathers to talk through challenges, plan activities, and support each other’s progress. Child care is available on-site, making it easier for fathers to attend therapy and appointments without scrambling for outside support. Playrooms, reading corners, and shared family areas encourage routines like bedtime reading or quiet play. This consistency helps children feel secure and gives fathers practice managing recovery alongside family life.

Evidence-Based Care and Life Skills

Therapeutic services include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, relapse prevention planning, anger management, and trauma-related counseling. Substance use counseling is paired with opportunities to build practical skills, such as cooking simple meals, navigating schedules, managing stress, and communicating more effectively. Life-skills workshops and wellness activities give fathers tools they can use immediately, whether they’re improving routines at home or rebuilding relationships.

Co-Occurring Mental Health and Treatment Access

The program works with fathers who have co-occurring mental health and substance use challenges as well as those involved with the criminal justice system. Clients receive assessments that inform individualized care, including mental health services, health education, and counseling related to HIV, hepatitis, and tobacco use. Staff coordinate closely with external clinics and pharmacies to support medications for addiction treatment (MAT). Fathers who arrive with existing prescriptions for alcohol or opioid use disorder receive help maintaining continuity of care.

Case Management and Practical Services

Many fathers enter treatment while navigating unstable housing, limited transportation, or complex family dynamics. The program’s case managers can help clients apply for social services, organize appointments, and plan for safer living arrangements. Transportation assistance ensures fathers can reach essential medical care, court obligations, or other recovery-related appointments. Housing services and connections to transitional programs can help fathers secure stability after discharge.

Aftercare and Community Support

Discharge planning begins early and continues through regular care-team meetings where fathers review progress, identify challenges, and map out next steps. Recovery coaching, peer mentorship, aftercare services, outcome follow-up, and structured continuing care provide guidance during the transition home. Community connections developed in the program offer fathers a network of peers who understand the realities of balancing parenting and recovery.
