The Only Residential Program for Fathers and Children in Utah

Odyssey House offers the only residential treatment in Utah that keeps fathers and their children together. This family-centered approach allows parents to focus on recovery without separation, while children receive daily care and stability. The program emphasizes rebuilding parent-child bonds and healing the effects of trauma, creating a safe and structured environment where families can recover as a unit.

Integrated Treatment and Medical Support

Fathers participate in individual, group, and family therapy that draws on evidence-based practices like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed counseling. Psychiatric providers are available for assessments and medication management, while the Martindale Clinic coordinates medical services and medications for addiction treatment (MAT). This integration ensures that substance use and co-occurring mental health needs are addressed together.

Daily Routines and Support for Children

Clients stay a minimum of 30 days, with most families remaining for 3–6 months. Fathers build skills in parenting, employment readiness, and daily living, while children, ranging from newborn to school-aged, receive licensed daycare and attend local schools. Structured routines like shared meals, chores, and activities reinforce stability for both parents and kids, preparing families to transition back into independent living.

Aftercare and Family Sober Housing

Support continues after residential treatment through outpatient therapy, peer groups, and alumni services. Odyssey House is also the only provider in Utah to offer family sober housing units, giving fathers and children a stable place to practice recovery together. These aftercare options extend the safety net, helping families maintain progress, strengthen relationships, and move forward with confidence.
