Who is this facility a good fit for?
Best fit if: Adults with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions such as trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, eating disorders, and personality disorders; individuals seeking intensive, trauma-focused care with frequent therapeutic engagement; clients interested in evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and individual counseling; adults seeking a luxury residential setting with amenities, chef-prepared meals, and mountain views; individuals looking for residential treatment, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and transitional living services within one continuum of care.
Not a fit if: Individuals seeking a faith-based treatment approach; clients who want unrestricted cell phone access during treatment; people looking for a highly independent residential experience with minimal structure; individuals seeking exclusively private accommodations; clients primarily interested in medication-focused treatment rather than intensive therapy and recovery programming.
What to expect
Developing your care plan
- Treatment plan: Care plans are developed early in treatment. Assigned therapists work with clients during initial planning.
- Continued adjustment of care plan: Clinical assessment and ongoing therapeutic work guide the personalization and continued adjustment of each treatment plan throughout recovery. A strong focus is placed on uncovering and treating underlying mental health and trauma-related issues.
Who you will meet with
- Clinical team: Clients meet with master's level therapists, group therapists leading process groups and psychoeducational programming, and other clinical staff delivering CBT, DBT, mindfulness, trauma-focused interventions, and other therapies.
- Medical team: Weekly meetings are held with medical providers, which can include psychiatrists, to conduct evaluations and provide medication management.
Typical schedule
- Morning to afternoon: Mornings begin with daily process groups, various types of evidence-based therapies as well holistic therapies, such as music-based creative activities, art therapy, and yoga. Clients will also work through trauma-focused therapy and mindfulness-based practices, and individual therapy during this time.
- Evenings: Time is set aside in the evenings for relaxing in common living areas, watching TV, and social interaction.
- Physical wellness: Gym visits take place about three times a week. Clients also participate in walks and hikesas fitness and movement are integrated into recovery.
- Weekends: Weekends bring reduced clinical scheduling to focus on community-based recreation outings that may include bowling, aquarium visits, and other social activities.
- Family visitation: Weekly family visitation takes place on Sundays. There is no blackout period for staying connected to family as clients can contact their support systems on day one.
Living experiences and amenities
- Residential experience: Clients stay in large residential homes with shared bedrooms typically housing 1-2 roommates. Bathrooms are shared as well but not across genders. Private rooms are available for an additional fee.
- Amenities: The luxury setting has mountain views with chef-prepared meals, TV access, and fitness center access or gym memberships. Recreation rooms and landscaped outdoor areas are available in addition to nature and outdoor activities.
Aftercare
- Partial hospitalization program: The PHP program typically takes place 5 days a week for about 30 days.
- Intensive outpatient program: The IOP program usually lasts around 2 months with clients attending three days a week for three to four hours each day.
- Transitional living: Transitional housing is available with outpatient services. This is intended to provide additional support while clients move toward more independence in their recovery process.

We came away with a very positive impression of Turning Point Centers after speaking with their admissions team. The staff were knowledgeable, transparent, and easy to talk to, providing detailed answers without making the conversation feel rushed or sales-focused.
