- Mindfulness: Meditation and mindfulness groups aim to help clients regulate emotions, reduce stress, and increase self-awareness.
- Frequent exercise: Members of the care team take clients to the gym at least three times per week. Groups also go on hikes, allowing clients to spend time in nature.
- Weekend outings: On weekends, staff take clients on trips to the aquarium, bowling alley, or other attractions within the community.
Developing your care plan
- Day one: On the first day of residential care, clients collaborate with the clinical team to create a personalized treatment plan.
- Therapist assignment: Clients are assigned a primary therapist who will work closely with them throughout their stay.
- Flexible stays: The minimum residential stay is 30 days, but this is flexible, and clients usually stay between 30 to 60 days.

Living experiences and amenities
- Home-like accommodations: Clients stay in a large home in a residential neighborhood. Bedrooms are usually shared with one or two peers, but private rooms are available for an additional fee. Evening downtime: In the evenings, clients can take time by themselves to reflect, or spend time with peers in comfortable living rooms with TVs.
- Phone calls and visitation: While personal devices are not permitted, clients can call loved ones daily using the facility phone. Family members can visit on Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.
Aftercare
- Step-down coordination: When clients have completed their residential stay and are ready, staff can connect them to outpatient programs within the Turning Point network. These include partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient programs (IOP).
- Alumni engagement: The alumni program, which offers lifetime support, involves weekly peer-led meetings, recreational gatherings such as softball and volleyball games, and quarterly get-togethers like barbeques and camping trips.
