Family-Centered Residential Care

Isabella House provides a six-month residential program tailored to pregnant and parenting women with children under six. It is the only program in the Inland Northwest where mothers and young children can remain together during treatment. Admission requires a chemical dependency assessment recommending Level 3.3 care, and detox must be completed before entry. This family-centered approach reduces the disruption of separation and strengthens stability at home.

Therapeutic Child Care and Parenting Education

Onsite therapeutic child care is available at least four hours daily, five days per week. Children receive developmental assessments, play therapy, behavioral support, and counseling designed to foster healthy growth. Family interventions and parenting classes help mothers build skills and confidence, preparing them to care for their children during and after treatment.

Evidence-Based Treatment and Skills for Independence

Care includes individual and group counseling with approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, trauma-related therapy, and 12-step facilitation. The program also offers health education and integrates life and employment skills, equipping women with practical tools to support long-term independence and recovery.

Supportive Services and Aftercare

Isabella House coordinates medications for addiction treatment (MAT) through outside providers and offers transportation assistance. The program is smoke- and vape-free, and cell phones are not permitted to maintain focus. Specialized support is available for women managing trauma, co-occurring mental health conditions, or involvement with Child Protective Services (CPS) or the justice system. Discharge planning begins early, connecting clients with recovery coaches, peer groups, housing resources, and social services to ensure stability beyond treatment.
