Keeping Families Togethers During Treatment

As a long-term residential program for pregnant and parenting women that keeps moms and their young children together during treatment. The program provides therapeutic childcare for all children, so mothers can attend groups and appointments while their children are supported. Individual room assignments are provided for mothers. Circle of Security Parenting is offered by a certified trainer, alongside parenting plans and child-development plans. Clients and children have access to necessary medical, dental, and counseling appointments, with nursing visits for eligible families.

Combining Treatment for Substance Use and Mental Health

Care blends evidence-based treatment with family-focused support. The program uses the 12-Step model and groups like Seeking Safety. Art therapy and family-focused programming are part of services. Riel House offers a unique co-occurring disorders program, helping clients focus on both mental health and substance use disorder treatment. An on-site mental health counselor supports this integrated approach.

Home-Like Setting for Families

Daily life includes structured groups, parenting classes, and scheduled appointments, with therapeutic childcare available during programming. The environment is home-like and practical for early parenting, with indoor lounge space, a kitchenette, outdoor space, and access to nature.

Preparing for Life After Treatment

To help with next steps, the program provides discharge planning and overdose education. Everyday barriers are addressed through transportation assistance and help obtaining social services. Mothers can access employment counseling or training, mentoring and peer support, and self-help groups. Education includes domestic violence and anger management.
