Long-Term, Supportive Residential Setting

New Day offers a structured, 24-hour residential program in Somerville for adults recovering from substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions. As part of Bay Cove Human Services’ CASPAR programs, the center focuses on helping residents stabilize, build recovery skills, and prepare for independent living over a six- to nine-month stay in a safe, supportive environment.

Integrated and Trauma-Informed Care

The program combines clinical and therapeutic services with individualized case management to address both mental health and substance use concerns. Trauma-informed counseling and coordinated mental health services ensure care is responsive to each person’s needs. The facility accepts individuals using medications for addiction treatment prescribed elsewhere, supporting a holistic recovery process.

Building Stability and Life Skills

Beyond therapy, New Day emphasizes practical support to strengthen long-term recovery. Residents participate in vocational and educational training, employment counseling, housing assistance, and recovery coaching. Transportation aid, aftercare planning, and peer mentoring help clients maintain progress and sustain connections as they re-enter the community.
