Integrated Care on Mayo Clinic’s Rochester Campus

Addiction, medical, and psychiatric services are coordinated under one roof in the Generose Building. Every individual begins with a comprehensive assessment to guide a personalized treatment plan. Care addresses both substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns, with access to Mayo Clinic’s full range of specialty services. The program follows an abstinence-based philosophy and maintains strict confidentiality.

Intensive 30-Day Residential Program

Adults seeking a highly structured setting can take part in the 30-day intensive residential program. On-site housing and 24/7 professional support allow participants to focus on sobriety, build recovery skills, and develop relapse-prevention strategies in a small, confidential community environment.

Outpatient and Medication Services

The four-week outpatient program runs Monday through Friday in half-day sessions. It combines educational and relapse-prevention groups, process therapy, individual counseling, and nursing assessments with lab monitoring. Every other Friday is reserved for family programming to strengthen support systems. A dedicated clinic offers medications for addiction treatment, prescribing options such as buprenorphine for opioid use disorder and acamprosate or naltrexone for alcohol use disorder.

Team Expertise and Ongoing Support

Treatment is led by a board-certified addiction psychiatrist and supported by psychologists, specialists, licensed counselors, and nurses. Evidence-based approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, trauma counseling, and 12-step facilitation. After residential or outpatient treatment, clinicians connect individuals to continuing care programs, such as extended outpatient or recovery maintenance groups, or coordinate services closer to home to ensure long-term support.
