Gender-Informed Treatment for Women
The program is designed for women and encompasses a gender-specific, trauma-informed approach. This environment can be helpful for women who are uncomfortable in a mixed-gender environment. It can also work for women who want peer support from others who have been in their shoes. Women can find emotional connection with themselves and others in a supportive setting. Staff can create specialized care pathways for women who are pregnant or postpartum, setting them up for healthy parenting and family life.
Combined Substance Use and Mental Health Care
Since substance use is often closely intertwined with mental health, the facility takes a holistic approach to both. Women who live with depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, and other mental health concerns can especially benefit from a facility that specializes in treating both at once. Medications for addiction treatment (MAT) can be prescribed to ease cravings and withdrawal symptoms. When appropriate, mental health medications are also available.
Evidence-Based Therapy and Wellness
Therapists work with clients using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused counseling. Twelve-step work is also part of the program, offering a long term community as well as lifelong skills. Women also receive relapse prevention counseling. Along with these clinical methods, daily schedules include fitness, and nutritious meals are provided. During downtime, women have a chance to relax and spend time with peers for mutual support.
Aftercare
Next steps can include intensive outpatient (IOP) or regular outpatient step-down care within the EOSIS Recovery network. Referrals to outside professionals can also be made when needed. Case managers can assist with finding housing and navigating social services so women don’t have to do it alone. Clients also benefit from continuing peer mentorship and connections to community resources.
