Matt Talbot Recovery Center - Men's Residential has been a trusted presence in Milwaukee since 1966. Located in the city’s central neighborhoods, the 26-bed facility offers a structured residential program for adult men navigating substance use and mental health challenges. The program’s foundation is rooted in dignity-centered care, with a focus on restoring routine, responsibility, and self-worth.

Transitional Support for Justice-Involved Men

A core strength of the program is its support for men reentering society after involvement with the criminal justice system. Clients can access transitional housing and supervised living across several Wisconsin communities, including West Bend, Stevens Point, and Superior. These services provide a critical bridge from treatment to community life, helping reduce the risk of relapse or re-incarceration by pairing accountability with wraparound care.

Integrated Care and Continuity of Treatment

Matt Talbot combines evidence-based therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed counseling, with access to telehealth services and 12-step facilitation. Clients also receive education, assessments and screenings for co-occurring health conditions. While the facility does not provide medications for addiction treatment (MAT) onsite, it accepts clients already prescribed these medications, allowing for uninterrupted care.

Life Skills, Peer Mentoring, and Employment Preparation

Recovery at the center also builds practical life foundations. Clients participate in workshops that cover budgeting, nutrition, and other daily living skills, alongside job readiness training and employment counseling. Peer mentoring and group programming foster a sense of connection and shared growth. These services aim to prepare clients for life after treatment, helping them navigate housing, work, and relationships with greater confidence.
