Short-Term Residential Stabilization in a Structured Setting
Emerson House provides acute residential care for adults who need immediate support and structure to stabilize from substance use. The program is designed for people who benefit from stepping away from daily pressures while focusing on recovery in a contained, inpatient environment. Shared accommodations, onsite meals, and laundry access support daily routines, while dedicated clinical and educational spaces keep treatment focused and consistent.
Team-Based Clinical and Recovery Support
Care at Emerson House is organized around a multidisciplinary team that works together throughout a client’s stay. Each person is supported by an addiction counselor and case management, with clinical and nursing oversight and access to medical and psychiatric services as needed. Recovery-focused staff and optional spiritual counseling add additional layers of support, helping align clinical care with day-to-day stabilization and longer-term planning.
Counseling, Education, and Skill Development
The program centers on individual and group counseling alongside recovery and health education. Clients spend their days building practical coping strategies, increasing awareness around substance use patterns, and developing tools that can carry into daily life after discharge. Wellness-focused activities are also part of the environment, including access to spaces for meditation and stress management.
Family Engagement and Planning for What Comes Next
Family involvement is encouraged when appropriate and can include education sessions and family meetings that support communication and shared understanding. Discharge planning is a core part of treatment, with staff helping clients prepare for continued care after leaving Emerson House. This includes connections to peer support, recovery coaching, employment or training resources, housing-related services, and overdose education with naloxone. Transportation assistance is available to help support care coordination and follow-up.
