Rural Residential Setting With Everyday Comforts
EOSIS Northern Plains – Douglas Place provides residential addiction treatment for adults in a quiet rural setting. Clients share rooms and have access to air-conditioned spaces, TVs, desks, sofas, and shared bathrooms. Daily living includes continental breakfast, hot lunch and dinner prepared by on-site chefs, coffee available throughout the day, evening snacks, vending machines, and laundry facilities with detergent provided. Recreation and wellness options include a fitness center, walking trails, and a recreation room with games and activities.
Co-Occurring Care With Evidence-Based Therapy and MAT
Licensed to treat co-occurring disorders, the program addresses substance use and mental health needs at the same time. Clients receive individual sessions with an addiction counselor and a mental health counselor, on-site medical care, group counseling, and educational groups that cover topics like addiction education, mental health education, recovery maintenance, life skills, grief and loss, health education, and family education. Treatment approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, EMDR, reality therapy, and 12-step facilitation. The program uses medications for addiction treatment (MAT) to support withdrawal discomfort and cravings, and it provides medication support for mental health when clinically appropriate.
Gender-Specific Structure and Native American Recovery Options
Men and women live in separate units and attend separate programming. Clinical groups focus on trauma, psychoeducation, self-discovery, multicultural approaches, and breaking addictive thinking patterns. Clients can also access specialized Native American recovery programming through smudging and The Red Road to Wellbriety, based on the Teachings of the Medicine Wheel, the Cycle of Life, and the Four Laws of Change.
Discharge Planning, Practical Supports, and Ongoing Connection
Planning for life after residential care is built into treatment through discharge planning, aftercare and continuing care referrals, and recovery support services. Clients can access case management, mentoring and peer support, help connecting to social services, housing services, naloxone and overdose education, and transportation assistance. If a higher level of medical support is needed during withdrawal management (detox), the intake process can include detox at a Gateway Recovery center before starting residential treatment. The program also follows clear policies around device use, smoking and vaping in designated areas, visitor hours, and service animals with required documentation.
