Agape Behavioral Healthcare

In Crisis?

Overview

Call772-758-7219 WebsiteVisit Website

Residential addiction and dual-diagnosis treatment with medical detox, a small-client setting, and the ability to move through multiple levels of care within the same organization. Clients can move from detox to residential treatment. If needed, they can then go on to partial hospitalization (PHP) or intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) without changing providers. Treatment combines evidence-based therapies, individual counseling, group therapy, psychiatric support, and medication management. A home-like environment is intended to feel more personal than a large campus, with regular staff interaction, recreational activities and outings, and personalized aftercare planning. This facility accepts private insurance and self-pay options.

Who is this facility a good fit for?

  • Best fit if: Individuals who need treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions; may require medically supervised detox before residential treatment; prefer a smaller, home-like treatment environment; value frequent interaction with staff and peers; want the ability to move through multiple levels of care within the same organization; and would benefit from structured aftercare and recovery planning before discharge.

  • Not a fit if: Adults who require hospital-level psychiatric or medical care; are seeking a highly private treatment experience with single-occupancy rooms; prefer a luxury resort-style rehab with extensive amenities; want a treatment approach that excludes 12-step recovery programming entirely; or are looking for a recovery experience focused primarily on recreation rather than structured therapy and clinical treatment.

What to expect

Developing your care plan

  • Intake and assessment: Before admission clients will undergo a phone assessment. The clinical team will make a determination as to what level of care a client needs.
  • Treatment plan development: Care plans are built based on substance use history, mental health needs, medical history, recovery goals, and findings from the clinical assessment. They may include medication management, psychiatric evaluations, and mental health support alongside addiction treatment.

Who you will meet with

  • Therapists and clinical staff: Therapists, group facilitators, and other clinical professionals provide individual therapy, group therapy, recovery education, and ongoing treatment support.
  • Medical and psychiatric providers: Psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff offer psychiatric evaluations. They also manage medications, support withdrawal, and monitor health during treatment.
  • Case managers and support staff: Case managers help coordinate treatment, discharge planning, and aftercare services. Behavioral health technicians provide daily support by monitoring a client's wellbeing and assisting with activities and programming.

Typical schedule

  • Group Therapy: Group sessions usually start around 9 or 10 a.m. and end between 3 and 4 p.m. with breaks planned during the day. Sessions generally last 45-60 minutes. They may focus on topics such as addiction education, mental health recovery, anxiety management, medication education, relapse prevention, recovery skills, and evidence-based therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and EMDR.
  • Morning and daytime routine: Clients usually start their day with breakfast. They take medication if needed, have daily check-ins, and reflect on their recovery. Lunch is provided midday with about an hour to an hour and a half break between activities.
  • Evenings and downtime: After daily programming, clients can relax, connect with peers, and join approved activities. These include movies, bowling, parks, and community outings. Evenings may also include recovery-focused programs or community meetings. Clients usually have dinner, followed by structured downtime, and bedtime is around 10 p.m.
  • Individual therapy: One-on-one therapy sessions, weekly individual counseling, and ongoing clinical check-ins are also a part of the typical schedule.

Living experiences and amenities

  • Living environment: Clients stay in a home-like environment that has living rooms and dining rooms with chef-prepared meals. They also have open kitchen access with snacks and drinks available during the day. Smoking and vaping are permitted in designated areas as well.
  • Living arrangements: Rooms are shared with one roommate. The staff intentionally try to pair roommates who have a similar background or experiences. There are typically 14-16 clients staying at the facility in total. Each bedroom includes a TV.

Aftercare

  • Discharge planning and next steps: Discharge planning begins before treatment is complete. Case management staff help clients identify ongoing treatment needs, connect to community recovery resources, build a meeting schedule, and explore next-step treatment options like PHP, IOP, or standard outpatient care.
  • Alumni support: Alumni services can include follow-up after discharge with staff checking in on former clients and continued connection after residential treatment is complete.
