Who is this facility a good fit for?

  • Best fit if: Adults who need detox and structured residential treatment for co-occurring disorders; want age- and gender-specific care; are looking for trauma-informed therapy, 12-step integration, family involvement, and neuro services; have private insurance with out-of-network benefits or can self-pay.
  • Not a fit if: Those looking for a flexible program; don’t want daily group sessions; or need in-network insurance coverage, Medicare, or Medicaid.

What to expect

Typical schedule

  • Daily routine: Clients typically wake around 7:00 a.m., have breakfast, attend morning groups, break for lunch, return for individual and group sessions in the afternoon, and then have dinner and evening activities.
  • Daily group sessions: Participation in daily groups is a routine part of care, and repeated nonparticipation can put insurance coverage at risk.
  • Visitation policies: After a first-week blackout period, clients are allowed visits from loved ones on Sundays from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with clinical approval.

Developing your care plan

  • Intake assessments: Care begins with a full assessment of substance use, mental health, physical health, withdrawal needs, relapse risk, readiness for change, and recovery environment.
  • Individualized treatment planning: Clients are involved in creating their treatment plans, but plans are developed and directed by the clinical, psychiatric, and treatment teams based on what they believe will best support recovery.
  • Ongoing assessments: The clinical team meets every morning to discuss client progress and adjust treatment as needed.
  • Integrated care options: Plans may combine detox, evidence-based therapy, trauma-informed treatment such as EMDR, 12-step work, psychiatric care, and neurological services through the Center for Brain Recovery.

Who you will meet with

  • Primary and family therapists: Clients are assigned a primary therapist for individual treatment work, and clients also work with a family therapist or counselor.
  • Psychiatric and medical staff: Psychiatric providers, a nurse psychiatric practitioner, and other medical team members support detox, medications, and basic medical needs.
  • Broader support staff: Additional support includes family services, alumni services, spiritual care, residential mental health, and the Center for Brain Recovery.

Living experiences and amenities

  • 14-acre tropical campus: The setting is designed to feel calm and restorative, with gardens, walking paths, a pool, and outdoor spaces for reflection and recreation.
  • Wellness and recreational amenities: The facility features a fitness center, basketball and volleyball courts, gourmet dining, yoga, massage, and access to nature.

Aftercare

  • Alumni support: Each client works with an alumni care coordinator and therapist to build an aftercare plan.
  • Ongoing support: Support services include outpatient therapy, psychiatric follow-up, family support, safe housing, peer resources, and support meetings.

Pre-Admissions Experience

We conducted a series of pre-admissions calls, the most recent on April 6, 2026 to evaluate response time, transparency, and patient experience.

When we reached out to the Hanley Center, the admissions team provided clear and detailed information about the program’s structure, treatment expectations, pricing, visitation, and care team. The call made it clear that this is a highly structured residential program, not a flexible one, and that participation in therapy is expected throughout the stay. The representative was also transparent that self-pay for the 45-day program, including detox, is due upfront.
