Residential treatment built around a stable routine
This program is positioned to help those who may have struggled in outpatient treatment or need stabilization before entering an outpatient program. Days follow a schedule of therapy, educational sessions, wellness activities, and other programming. The structured routine is intended to regulate sleep, mood, and behavior while giving clients space from the stressors of everyday life so they can focus on treatment.
Addiction treatment that incorporates mental health care
Master’s-level therapists collaborate with the program’s medical team to develop care plans that address substance use, primary mental health challenges, and co-occurring disorders, including anxiety, bipolar disorder, complex trauma, and depression. The overall approach is evidence-based, holistic, and trauma-informed. Clients participate in individual, group, and family therapy, and multiple approaches to treatment may be used, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma-specific therapy, psychoeducation, and relapse prevention counseling.
Skill-building and support for daily life
Vanguard has a strong practical component focused on helping clients prepare to transition out of residential treatment through skill-building and strengthening relationships. Programming includes life skills training, coping skills development, and navigating lifestyle changes. Family support is also emphasized, helping clients strengthen relationships and build their support systems. Community and accountability are also priorities, with collaboration across the care team helping ensure that staff understand each client’s treatment plan and maintain consistency, respect, and accountability throughout care.
From residential to outpatient treatment with ongoing peer support
Clients can step down from residential treatment to lower levels of care within the organization. Vanguard offers a PHP and IOP, giving clients access to outpatient therapy, regular therapist and healthcare provider check-ins, and relapse prevention planning. Aftercare services also include recovery coaching and peer-based support, including mentoring and support meetings.
