Affordable & Accessible Care

• Services provided regardless of ability to pay
• Funded through public grants, behavioral health tax, and private sources
• Free and low-cost services may be available for qualifying individuals

Inpatient & Residential Programs

Addiction Treatment Program (ATP)

• Four-week, jail-based inpatient program
• Designed for DWI offenders and judicially referred individuals
• Week 1: Assessment by licensed clinicians
• Weeks 2-4: Curriculum-based relapse prevention, psychoeducation, and life skills development

Detox Program

• Short-term social model detox with medical oversight
• 48-bed capacity (32 male, 16 female)
• Suboxone treatment available for opioid addiction
• Partnered with University of New Mexico Hospital (UNMH) for medical support
• Not available for methadone or benzodiazepine detox (referrals provided)

Mariposa Residential Program

• Specialized treatment for pregnant and postpartum women
• 8-bed facility in collaboration with New Mexico Department of Health & UNM
• Provides housing, case management, and substance use treatment

Supportive Aftercare Community (SAC)

• Residential aftercare program for individuals post-detox/rehab
• Free for qualifying New Mexico residents
• Focus on structured living, relapse prevention, and reintegration
• Not a sober living program but offers supportive, transitional housing
• Requirements:
  • Must have completed detox or rehab
  • Must be able to perform daily living tasks independently

Outpatient & Crisis Services

Outpatient Clinic

• Operated in partnership with Duke City Recovery Toolbox
• Services include:
  • Counseling (individual, group, and family)
  • Case management & discharge planning
  • Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) – Suboxone
• Additional outpatient psychiatric services may be available but require verification
• Specialties: Trauma-informed care, LGBTQ+ services, co-occurring disorders

Observation & Assessment Unit (O&A)

• 23-hour voluntary stabilization program
• Designed for individuals who are highly intoxicated or in crisis
• Provides:
  • Immediate intervention & assessment
  • Medical & psychiatric support
  • Referral to detox or mental health programs
• Amenities:
  • Hygiene kits, showers, laundry facilities
  • Leisure time & smoking breaks

Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU)

• Short-term crisis care for mental health emergencies
• Clients must be:
  • Voluntarily seeking care
  • Cleared through risk assessments
• Goal: Immediate stabilization and referral to appropriate care

Living Room Program

• Peer-led mental health support space
• Non-clinical crisis intervention
• Focus on recovery coaching and social support

Target Audience

• Adults 18+ with substance use or mental health challenges
• Judicially-involved individuals (DWI offenders, court referrals)
• Pregnant/postpartum women seeking substance use treatment
• Individuals transitioning from detox or rehab
• People experiencing a mental health crisis

Additional Notes

• No forced admissions – all clients must voluntarily seek treatment
• No detox for benzodiazepines or methadone – referrals available
• Severe psychiatric cases may be referred elsewhere
• Recent expansion (2021) added new detox facilities and crisis intervention services
• Future plans for additional outpatient services and community partnerships
