Who is this facility a good fit for?
- Best fit if: Adults who need residential treatment with detox; prefer a nature-based environment; seek optional faith-based recovery; want family involvement in treatment; or are professionals looking for privacy, career-sensitive treatment, and the ability to stay connected to work.
- Not a fit if: Adults who want a luxury or resort-style experience; prefer an urban setting with off-campus activities; want a purely secular treatment experience; adolescents seeking treatment.
What to expect
Developing your care plan
- Comprehensive evaluations: Initially, client care focuses on comprehensive evaluations rather than therapy. These include medical assessments, substance use assessments, medication reviews, mental health evaluations, and personality, wellness, and dietary assessments. At this stage, the care team also determines whether detox is appropriate.
- Multidisciplinary assessments drive care: Results from these evaluations are used to develop individualized care plans. This includes guiding decisions about the appropriate level of care, therapy schedule, treatment priorities, and medication needs. A dedicated Professionals Track with career and licensing support is available alongside specialized programming for clients with trauma or co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Adjustments throughout treatment: The care team re-evaluates clients throughout treatment, adjusting care plans as needed to ensure they continue to receive appropriate support and are matched with therapies that meet their needs.
Who you will meet with
- Medical team: Physicians, nurses, a clinical director, and other medical providers supervise detox and MAT while supporting overall health throughout treatment.
- Therapists: Clients may meet with various therapy professionals, including licensed alcohol and drug counselors, individual therapists, and a marriage and family therapist. Various approaches are integrated into the program, including trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing.
- Spiritual care support: Those who wish to integrate spiritual practices into treatment may meet with a spiritual care manager and chaplain.
- Support: Support staff may include case managers, other recovery-oriented professionals (many of whom have personal experience with recovery), and a therapy dog.
Typical schedule
- Morning: The daily schedule provides consistency and structure without making clients feel rushed. The day begins with coffee, check-ins, and morning therapy sessions. Later, clients participate in group or individual counseling, educational programming, and psychiatric support as needed.
- Afternoon: The afternoon is for experiential groups, wellness, and outdoor activities; these may include pickleball, basketball, and hiking.
- Evening: Evening activities tend to focus on connections and reflection. There is time for journaling, peer support groups, chapel visits, or spiritual programming.
Living experiences and amenities
- Optional emphasis on faith and spirituality: Clients who wish to integrate spirituality into treatment can do so with prayer, chapel services, and Bible studies. Chaplains are part of the staff, and the facility takes a non-denominational approach. This aspect of programming is entirely optional, and clients may participate as much (or as little) as they choose.
- Family participation: Family involvement goes beyond occasional visits. Clients and loved ones are encouraged to practice recovery skills together. Alongside scheduled visits and FaceTime calls, loved ones attend educational programming, family counseling, relationship repair, and communication skills training.
- A peaceful rural campus that integrates the outdoors: The rural setting offers sweeping prairie views, ideal for watching the sun rise or set, as well as two miles of hiking trails, outdoor decks, patio grills, and swinging benches.
- Other amenities for recreation and comfort: Recreation and wellness amenities include a pickleball court, basketball court, workout spaces, and chef-prepared meals that can include dietary accommodations. The facility also offers spacious rooms and a community-oriented environment. Professionals can use the business center and have access to technology that enables them to stay connected to work and continue meeting outside responsibilities.
Aftercare
- Referrals for ongoing care: Individualized aftercare planning includes referrals for continuing support like outpatient treatment, sober living, and other community or alumni resources.
- Ongoing support: The program emphasizes a gradual transition rather than an abrupt discharge. Telehealth counseling, relapse prevention planning, and continued counseling are provided when appropriate. There is also a recovery app that helps alumni manage appointments, receive reminders, and access additional recovery resources.
