Women-Only Residential Care in a Home-Like Setting

Located in Saint Paul, The Heights offers a women-only residential program for adults with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health challenges, including trauma. The typical length of stay is 60–90 days. Residents live on-site in a secure, home-like environment with shared living spaces, daily meals, and areas for group and individual sessions — built to help women step out of chaos and into a steady routine with round-the-clock staff support.

Trauma-Informed, Co-Occurring Support With Psychiatric Services

The Heights is designed for people whose substance use is tied to trauma and mental health needs, not just substance use alone. Treatment includes individual counseling, group therapy, relapse prevention, and co-occurring support, along with psychiatric and mental health services. The program can also coordinate and support medications for addiction treatment (MAT) and other medications, helping clients stay connected to appropriate prescribing and follow-up care.

Built for Moments of Crisis and the Work of Rebuilding Support

The Heights understands that many people seek treatment during urgent situations, such as legal trouble, domestic conflict, or medical emergencies. Programming is structured to help clients stabilize while also rebuilding support systems that can make recovery more sustainable. Family education is part of the approach, and the facility offers a designated, kid-friendly visiting space so children can visit during visiting hours. Residents may also take part in local recovery-focused events to strengthen connection and community.

Co-Ed Outpatient Services With Structure and Skills Practice

For adults who need ongoing support without living on-site, The Heights offers co-ed outpatient programming, including an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Services include substance use assessments, group sessions held weekday mornings, and individual counseling. Outpatient care also emphasizes practical living skills, relapse prevention, peer connection, and crisis intervention with safety planning, alongside aftercare planning and case management to help clients plan next steps after treatment.
