Integrated substance use and mental health care
Clients can receive care for substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and trauma. The 30-day program uses a combined behavioral health treatment approach that takes into account how mental health and substance use affect each other. This care can include motivational interviewing, family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care.
Small women-only residential setting
This women-only facility supports adults ages 18 and older, with fewer than 15 clients at a time. This setting is intended to provide clients with greater access to personal support alongside group treatment. Care is designed around women’s experiences and aims to provide a smaller peer community for more personal interaction.
Waterfront setting and wellness activities
The campus sits along the Edisto River with access to gardens, comfort-focused shared spaces, walking areas, and outdoor lounges. Clients have the ability to choose between private and semi-private rooms, and the facility provides chef-prepared meals. Clinical treatment is paired with holistic and recreational activities such as yoga, meditation, and horticulture therapy.
Recovery skills beyond therapy
Opportunities to take part in activities and connect with others are available through day trips to nearby Charleston and sober recreation. Individual and group therapy are complemented by life skills, family counseling, 12-Step facilitation, case management, and wellness activities.
Discharge and aftercare planning
Clients have access to discharge and relapse prevention planning beginning at admission. Though the program averages 30 days of treatment, the length of stay for each client may vary based on treatment goals and readiness for the next level of care. Aftercare planning may include sober living options, outpatient therapy, psychiatric care, and primary care needs. Women in professional careers may also receive support with coordinating continued care with professional advocacy organizations.
