24/7 Crisis Stabilization and Detox Services

The center offers immediate access to psychiatric care and detox services in a hospital-based setting. This state-operated facility is designed for individuals facing urgent mental health or substance use crises, providing 24-hour walk-in evaluations, stabilization, and treatment. Clients can be admitted directly to inpatient or residential programs as needed, ensuring continuity of care during critical moments.

Comprehensive Inpatient Detox and Medication Support

The center provides full medical detoxification for alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, methamphetamines, and other substances. A wide range of evidence-based medications for addiction treatment (MAT) are used during withdrawal management and ongoing treatment. Medications for mental health and tobacco cessation are also provided. These services are particularly beneficial for clients with opioid or alcohol use disorders who may be starting or continuing an MAT regimen.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment and Evidence-Based Therapies

Co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders are addressed together. Treatment approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, 12-step facilitation, and trauma-informed counseling. Clients receive individual, group, family, and couples counseling, with the option of telehealth services. The facility also provides integrated primary care and suicide prevention support.

The facility serves a diverse range of clients, including pregnant and postpartum women, veterans, young adults, seniors, and individuals involved in the justice system. For people facing housing insecurity or other structural barriers, the center offers case management, employment counseling, social services navigation, and access to self-help and peer mentoring programs. Operated by the Gateway Community Service Board, a public entity serving eight counties in coastal Georgia, this center helps ensure access to care regardless of income. A sliding fee scale is offered based on household income and family size. Individuals at or below the federal poverty level can receive care at no cost, while those with limited income pay reduced rates. Staff also assist clients in connecting to benefits and support programs that promote long-term recovery stability.
