A highly structured, short-term residential program

Crossroads is an 18-bed residential program for adults with substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions. Clients typically stay in the program for 2 to 5 weeks. Highly structured daily schedules run from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. with individual and group treatment centering on 5 areas: addiction and its effects, managing thoughts and emotions with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, healthy relationships, relapse prevention, and building a balanced lifestyle. Clinical treatment is supplemented by fitness activities, like swimming and yoga, as well as equine-assisted and pet therapy and evening 12-Step meetings to connect with the local recovery community.

Medical withdrawal management located steps from residential care

Clients who need withdrawal management can begin treatment at the Crossroads inpatient detox unit before transitioning into residential care. This unit offers 24/7 medical monitoring and nursing care, medication management, daily medical oversight, and Suboxone when clinically appropriate. This part of treatment also includes daily groups, 12-Step meetings, pet therapy, and recreational activities. Admission for withdrawal management is available on a walk-in, first-come, first-served basis, pending triage. Specialized services are available for pregnant and postpartum women.

Clients stay in shared, gender-specific rooms, and meals are prepared on-site. A registered dietitian is available to address dietary needs. Personal phones and electronic devices are collected upon admission and securely stored. The campus is tobacco- and vape-free, but nicotine replacement is available when needed. Family involvement is encouraged when appropriate, with dedicated Sunday visitation times during residential treatment, and additional accommodations can be made for parents with young children.

Multiple step-down options

After residential care, clients have several outpatient options. The facility offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) that typically lasts 6 to 8 weeks with flexible scheduling, giving clients the opportunity to continue to work, go to school, or meet family responsibilities. There’s also a Pathways to Healing day program that meets Monday through Friday from 12 to 5 p.m. and combines individual, group, and family therapy with peer support, medication management, and wellness groups, as well as a separate Adult Substance Use Group with evening sessions over 7 to 16 weeks.

Psychiatric care and medication management are available, as well as outpatient services, including MAT, family counseling and education, Narcan training, wellness and fitness programming, art and equine-assisted therapy, pet-assisted support, and an on-site pharmacy.
