Whole-Person Care in a Rural Community Setting
Comprehensive Connections delivers integrated behavioral health and substance use care from a peaceful rural campus in Mount Vernon, Illinois. The private nonprofit focuses on improving quality of life through personalized treatment and accessible support. Programs serve adolescents, adults, veterans, older adults, and individuals with disabilities, blending clinical treatment with community connection. Transportation across Southern Illinois helps ensure consistent access to care, even for clients in remote areas.
Continuum of Care: Detox Through Outpatient Treatment
The facility provides a full spectrum of services, from 24/7 medically monitored detox to long- and short-term residential programs and outpatient care. Residential treatment offers a structured, distraction-free setting where clients focus on recovery through education, group sessions, and one-on-one counseling. Intensive (IOP) and standard outpatient programs support ongoing recovery while allowing flexibility for family or work. DUI services and telehealth therapy extend care to those balancing legal, professional, or geographic constraints.
Evidence-Based Therapies and Medications for Recovery
Treatment integrates medications for addiction treatment (MAT), such as buprenorphine and naltrexone, to manage cravings and stabilize recovery. Evidence-based therapies include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, contingency management, relapse prevention, trauma-informed care, and 12-step facilitation. These approaches help clients understand the roots of substance use, strengthen coping and communication skills, and maintain long-term recovery.
Vocational Support and Real-Life Stability
Comprehensive Connections stands out for pairing clinical care with practical life supports. Vocational services, such as job training, evaluation, supported employment, and placement, help clients rebuild financial stability and independence. The center also provides recovery coaching, case management, housing and social service referrals, and self-help groups. Treatment addresses mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic pain, and gambling disorder, with suicide-prevention services available.
