Residential Treatment and Medically Supported Detox

Vitality Center’s Elko residential program offers short-term care, typically up to 30 days, for adolescents and adults who need a highly structured setting to stabilize from alcohol or other drug use. Treatment can begin with medically supported detox, delivered through a clinically managed withdrawal model that helps individuals move safely into residential treatment. Behavioral health technicians are onsite 24/7, and medical support is available around the clock, offering consistency for people navigating early recovery.

Integrated Co-Occurring and Trauma-Informed Care

The program is designed for people who are managing both substance use and mental health concerns. Assessments, mental health services, and medications for mental health conditions are available alongside substance use treatment. Medications for addiction treatment (MAT) are offered, including options for alcohol and opioid use disorders. Counseling addresses concerns related to anger, stress, trauma, and the impact of violence or abuse, important for clients whose symptoms interfere with school, work, or relationships.

Intensive Programming With Practical Skill-Building

Clients participate in approximately 53 hours per week of group and individual sessions using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, contingency management, Matrix Model, relapse prevention, and 12-step facilitation. Education covers communication, problem solving, stress reduction, irrational thought patterns, and maintaining recovery in daily life. Life-skills development, employment counseling or training, and support with goal setting help clients prepare for responsibilities at home, school, or work after leaving treatment.

Supportive Environment With Access to Nature

The Elko location offers shared rooms, personal storage, internet access, desks, air-conditioned rooms, and indoor and outdoor lounge areas. Access to nature, walking paths, and outdoor seating provide opportunities for movement and reflection between sessions. The campus is tobacco-free, with vaping permitted only in designated areas. This structured but approachable setting helps reduce daily stressors so clients can focus on treatment.

Continuing Support and Community-Based Resources

Vitality Center provides case management, transportation assistance, and help obtaining social services, which can reduce barriers that often make it difficult to stay engaged in treatment or return home safely. Discharge planning includes naloxone education, aftercare recommendations, peer support, mentoring, housing services, and follow-up contact after discharge. Vitality Unlimited’s broader outpatient network across Northern Nevada offers additional therapy and support for those continuing care after residential treatment.
