Residential Program for Men

Nilsson House offers a city-based residential setting dedicated to adult men and young adults. With both medium- and low-intensity treatment options, the program provides a step-down model that helps residents move from intensive support to greater independence. Days are structured with morning lectures, group and individual counseling, peer-led meetings, and leisure activities, creating routine and accountability while supporting recovery.

Integrated Care With Medications

Treatment includes access to medications for addiction treatment (MAT) such as methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone, combined with counseling and skill-building. This integrated approach reduces withdrawal and cravings so residents can stay engaged in therapy, focus on personal goals, and practice strategies for long-term stability.

Focus on Complex Needs

Nilsson House serves men with a wide range of challenges, including co-occurring mental health conditions, trauma, chronic pain, and HIV/AIDS. Care is rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, trauma counseling, and 12-step facilitation. The smoke- and vape-free environment reinforces healthy daily habits.

Recovery Support That Lasts

Residents receive wraparound support that extends into life after treatment. Services include case management, housing and employment assistance, vocational training, transportation, and ongoing peer mentoring. As part of the larger Tuerk House network, Nilsson House connects clients to detox, outpatient, and community-based care, ensuring continuity of support at every stage of recovery. Payment is accepted through Medicaid, private insurance, state-funded coverage, and self-payment.
