Accessing Care Where Patients Feel Most Comfortable

Both in-person and telehealth-based outpatient services are available to help people access care in ways that fit their lives. For those who can’t reliably travel—due to distance, transportation barriers, or scheduling—telehealth allows participation in assessments, therapy, and even visitation with loved ones from wherever they feel most comfortable. Telehealth programming is available across PHP and IOP levels and mirrors the structure and support of in-person services, including individualized planning and therapist-led group work. Sonora also offers virtual family visitation so patients can stay connected to their support systems during treatment. These options make it easier to begin care without delay and give people a way to stay engaged in treatment, even when life makes showing up in person hard.

Customized Levels of Support

After undergoing a clinical assessment, patients embark on a dedicated track to best fit their needs, whether for substance use, mental health, or co-occurring conditions. Group therapy is the central mode of treatment, led by trained professionals and focused on building skills, accountability, and peer support. Specialized PHP and IOP programming is available for adolescents, ages 12-17, which allows them to connect with peers going through similar experiences. The outpatient structure provides consistent, targeted support while maintaining connection to their daily lives—an approach that can improve long-term engagement and stability in recovery.

Well-Rounded Care for Veterans

The specialized outpatient program for veterans is designed to help veterans and active-duty individuals work through trauma, substance use, and mental health conditions like depression and anxiety. Before starting, each person completes an assessment so the care team can understand their needs and develop a focused plan. Treatment may include therapy and medication management, along with help navigating the Community Care Network. The goal is to give those who served the space to process what they've been through and begin making steady, realistic progress toward daily stability and recovery.

What Patients Are Saying

Patient reviews frequently highlight the compassion and professionalism of Sonora’s staff. Intake support and trauma-focused groups are noted as standout experiences, with many clients praising the speed of access. However, some have raised concerns about administrative disorganization, particularly around billing and communication. These reviews reflect a facility grounded in meaningful care, but one that may still be improving its operational follow-through.
