Overview

Oregon Trail Recovery approaches drug and alcohol treatment to best align men’s and women’s unique needs and challenges. The gender-specific programming and sober living residences allow space for women to recover in a supportive environment of peers, while men can find space to express emotion without judgment. Outdoor activities offer clients the opportunity to engage with Oregon’s surrounding natural beauty, from Mt. Hood to the Oregon Coast. Both Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) utilize individual therapy and group therapy sessions, support groups, 12-Step meetings, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), family therapy, and the development and maintenance of life skills to support clients’ long-term recovery.

Gender-Specific Sober Living and Care

  • By approaching treatment through the unique, but different pressures men and women experience, clients in recovery have the opportunity to show emotion without judgment in a healing environment well-suited for them.
  • Women’s Drug Rehab program offers support for common challenges, like childhood trauma and eating disorders, and for those who are often primary caregivers, such as parenting and childcare classes.
  • Men’s Drug Rehab incorporates physical fitness, among other therapies, and aims to shed the societal pressures that tell men to be stoic and self-sufficient.

Hands-On Therapies and Activities

  • Monthly equine therapy, Sweat Lodge visit, and Rock to Recovery, a music therapy program incorporated into outpatient treatment schedules, offering hands-on approaches to self-expression.
  • Engage with Portland’s beautiful natural surroundings during frequent outings to Mt. Hood, the Columbia River Gorge, the Oregon Coast, and more.
  • Collaboration with Wellbriety offers holistic healing methods from indigenous traditions.

Cozy Sober Living Option

  • Sober living homes offer a structured, gender-specific space that aligns with PHP and IOP weekly schedules.
