Nestled in a wooded area minutes from downtown Annapolis, Luminis Health Pathways offers adults a private, restorative space to begin recovery. For more than 30 years, this nonprofit treatment center has helped people address substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions through trauma-informed, evidence-based care. Its setting supports reflection, privacy, and connection throughout the recovery process.

Full Continuum Of Care

Pathways provides detox, residential treatment, partial hospitalization (PHP) with boarding options, and intensive (IOP) and traditional outpatient programs. Clients receive dual-diagnosis care that integrates medical supervision, medications for addiction treatment (MAT), and mental health therapy. The intake process is structured to admit most clients the same day, removing barriers to timely care and ensuring smooth transitions across levels of treatment.

Experiential Therapies That Inspire Growth

Beyond traditional counseling, Pathways’ hallmark is its adventure therapy program. Clients participate in an on-site ropes and climbing course guided by trained staff, to build trust, self-awareness, and confidence in recovery. This experiential approach complements individual, group, and family counseling, as well as 12-step facilitation, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Nutrition education, spirituality groups, and relapse-prevention planning round out the program’s holistic foundation.

Residential accommodations include double rooms with private bathrooms. The campus features a gym, cafeteria, and outdoor patio for dining and reflection. Staff provide 24/7 nursing care and daily housekeeping, creating a structured and comfortable environment for healing. Family workshops promote communication and boundary-setting, while discharge planning and aftercare services strengthen stability after treatment. As part of Luminis Health, Pathways accepts most major insurance, Medicaid, and TRICARE, and offers financial assistance to ensure care remains accessible.
