Adolescent Residential Care for Co-Occurring Needs

Fairview Recovery Services provides substance use treatment for youth ages 12–19 who also have mental health needs. Residential care offers a structured, 24-hour setting designed to help teens step away from day-to-day triggers and focus on stabilizing routines, emotions, and decision-making. A typical residential stay is 45–60 days, with licensed nursing care and onsite psychiatric care that includes medication management.

Multiple Levels of Care, Including Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient

In addition to residential treatment, the program includes outpatient and intensive outpatient (IOP) care. This continuum supports teens who need ongoing treatment while living at home and offers a clearer step-down path after residential care. Discharge planning and referrals are built into the program to help families connect with the next level of support when a teen is ready to transition.

Family Therapy and School Continuity Built In

Family participation is an expectation, not an optional add-on. Families attend weekly sessions to better understand what’s behind a teen’s behavior and to build parenting strategies tailored to their child’s needs. Teens also participate in group and individual therapy as part of treatment. During the regular school year, education is provided on-site through the local school district with personalized academic plans to reduce disruption and support re-entry to school routines.

Safety, Screening, and Supportive Services

Smoking and vaping are not permitted. The program provides comprehensive screening and assessment, including mental health and substance use screening, medical history and physical exams, and testing such as urine drug screening and breathalyzer or blood alcohol testing. Treatment also includes spiritual health services, along with overdose education and naloxone education as part of transition planning.
