Lakeside Men-Only Setting That Supports Connection

EOSIS - Lake Shore is a men’s residential addiction treatment program in the Saint Paul area, set near a small lake with access to nature. The environment supports day-to-day routines outside of therapy, with outdoor space, walking options, and group activities that help clients practice connection in a men’s-only community.

Co-Occurring Care With Ongoing Team Check-Ins

The program is licensed to treat co-occurring mental health needs alongside substance use. A multidisciplinary team completes an initial assessment and continues evaluating progress throughout the stay, factoring in use history, mental health concerns, cravings, withdrawal symptoms, and medical needs. Services include medical care, individual sessions with addiction and mental health counselors, and group and educational therapy. Programming includes a higher-intensity residential phase with more weekly clinical hours, followed by a lower-intensity phase as clients progress.

Withdrawal Management, MAT, and Practical Care Coordination

EOSIS - Lake Shore provides withdrawal management (detox) support and uses medications for addiction treatment (MAT) to ease withdrawal discomfort and cravings when appropriate. The program is methadone-friendly. Staff coordinate care with outside providers, provide non-emergency transportation to appointments, and offer on-site telehealth sessions. The program is abstinence-based and does not allow marijuana, including medical marijuana.

Daily Structure, Amenities, and Transition Support

Meals are prepared on-site, with accommodations for dietary and religious restrictions. Living arrangements include private and shared room options, and amenities include a fitness space and recreation areas. Outside of clinical programming, clients take part in art and recreational activities such as games, bonfires, pond fishing, and staff-led walks. Staff also transport clients to off-site AA and NA meetings to build familiarity with community support. Discharge planning and aftercare connections help clients line up next steps after residential treatment. Phone and device access is structured by phase of care, with tighter limits early in the stay.

Client Reviews

Many clients and families highlight caring staff and a supportive culture. Some reviews also point to inconsistency in structure and communication.

  • Staff & Care Experience (75% positive): Many clients describe staff as kind, attentive, and grounded in lived experience. A smaller set of reviews raise concerns about professionalism and how feedback or conflict is handled. "Staff is awesome"
  • Treatment Quality & Outcomes (75% positive): Clients often say the program helped them reflect, stabilize, and build momentum in early recovery, including support for mental health needs. Some reviews suggest groups and expectations could be more consistent and skills-focused. "I learned more about myself here than in my last four inpatient treatments"
  • Support & Community (65% positive): Several reviews mention strong peer support and a sense of connection that helped people feel less alone in recovery. Others describe uneven follow-through when clients needed extra help or advocacy. "The fellowship is strong"
  • Facility & Environment: Clients who had positive stays mention a comfortable setting, a helpful location, and basic amenities like meals. A few reviews suggest day-to-day operations could feel inconsistent at times. "The location is perfect"
  • Access & Process: A handful of reviews describe intake help as responsive, while others raise concerns about discharge logistics, communication follow-through, and handling of personal belongings and confidentiality.
