One Campus With Multiple Levels Of Care
Charlotte Behavioral Healthcare brings substance use and mental health services together on its Punta Gorda campus, helping people move between levels of care without starting over somewhere new. Programming serves adults as well as children and adolescents, with family therapy available as part of care when appropriate.
24/7 Crisis Stabilization and Withdrawal Management
For urgent situations, the campus includes crisis services with around-the-clock assessment and stabilization for mental health and substance use crises. Adults also have access to medically supervised withdrawal management (detox) and a residential rehab program, with clinical and medical support alongside group therapy, education, wellness groups, and family support. The residential recovery center sits in a quieter, scenic setting on the larger campus and includes options like yoga and meditation.
Opioid Treatment Program With Medications for Addiction Treatment
As a certified opioid treatment program, Charlotte Behavioral Healthcare provides medications for addiction treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder, including buprenorphine and naltrexone, paired with counseling and relapse-prevention planning. Medication support for alcohol use disorder is also part of services. Recovery philosophy includes both SMART Recovery and 12-step support, giving people more than one framework to stay engaged.
Wraparound Support for Life Outside Treatment
Care extends beyond counseling sessions with practical support that helps people stay connected to recovery. Services include discharge planning and continuing care, recovery coaching and peer support, housing services, help accessing social services, employment counseling or training, naloxone and overdose education, and transportation assistance. Specialized programming includes court-connected services (such as drug court and mental health court), community-based intensive support through assertive community treatment, and a peer-run drop-in center for people living with severe and persistent mental illness.
