Who is this facility a good fit for?

  • Best fit if: Adults who need structured treatment while living at home; may benefit from peer-based group care and periodic individual counseling; have experienced trauma or co-occurring mental health concerns; are interested in family or couples counseling; may be a licensed healthcare professional in need of recovery support; and are between the ages of 16 and 20 and may benefit from a separate 12-week virtual blended outpatient program.
  • Not a fit if: Adults who are in need of residential treatment or an overnight living environment; and expect frequent individual therapy.

What to expect

Developing your care plan

  • Intake and assessment: Prior to admission, clients take part in an intake call that includes a three-part clinical review covering clinical appropriateness, development and individualization of the client’s treatment plan, as well as medical necessity and an insurance review. These assessments take the client’s emotional, behavioral, environmental, and medical history into account.
  • Treatment planning: Treatment planning begins immediately, including discharge planning. Licensed therapists monitor clinical progress and place the client in one of the program’s three intensive outpatient groups. Psychiatric evaluations and medication management are available when determined to be clinically appropriate.

Who you will meet with

  • Individual and family counseling: A therapist leads three IOP sessions each week. Clients also meet one-on-one with a counselor at least once a month, with additional sessions available based on individual need. A family and couples therapist supports clients whose loved ones need help understanding how substance use affects relationships.
  • Psychiatric and continuing care staff: A medical director or psychiatrist can support clients with psychiatric evaluations and medication management when needed. A continuing care coordinator also helps clients plan for life after formal treatment, beginning on the first day of treatment.

Typical schedule

  • Weekly IOP schedule: The IOP meets three times a week, with evening programming taking place on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6–9 p.m., while morning groups take place on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m.–noon. Clients can switch between the scheduled sessions to meet their work or personal needs. Individual counseling is scheduled separately.
  • Group therapy: Group sessions cover addiction and recovery, family dynamics, boundaries, communication, and coping skills through discussion and experiential work.
  • Trauma and mental health treatment: Trauma-focused groups explore how trauma affects daily life and substance use through education, expressive arts, and other wellness activities. Individual trauma care may include eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), sensorimotor work (a body-centered therapeutic approach), and parts therapy (a psychotherapeutic approach that views the mind as being made up of multiple subpersonalities). Individual therapy may also address mental health concerns affecting recovery, with medication support when determined to be appropriate.
  • Specialized virtual programs: The program for licensed healthcare professionals offers weekly virtual groups and individual counseling based on the client’s needs. This program focuses on professional identity, stress, and coping. Another specialized virtual track offered by the facility is a 12-week program for ages 16–20 that meets three times a week. It includes peer connection, trauma-focused care, and family coaching.

Aftercare

  • Support after treatment: A recovery support program is available for clients transitioning into everyday recovery. This includes a Building and Maintaining Recovery Virtual Support Group that provides connection to the facility’s alumni as well as opportunities to build practical skills. A separate Recovery Maintenance Group covers coping, self-care, emotional regulation, and help with everyday problem-solving that may affect recovery.
