As symptoms and stability improve, clients can step down into intensive or standard outpatient care while staying with the same organization. This makes it easier to match support to changing needs and to balance treatment with work, school, or parenting responsibilities instead of starting over with a new provider.

Integrated Care for Substance Use and Mental Health

The care team treats substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions together. Services can include individual, group, and family counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, trauma-related counseling, anger management, and 12-step work. Substance use screening, mental health screening, and suicide prevention services help identify risks early and guide treatment plans.

Medications for Addiction Treatment and Practical Support

Medications for addiction treatment (MAT) are available as part of care for alcohol and opioid use disorders. These medications can help reduce cravings, ease withdrawal, and support relapse prevention. The program also accepts clients whose medications are prescribed elsewhere and coordinates with outside prescribers. At the same time, case management connects clients with housing resources, social services, and benefits as needed.

Skills, Education, and Recovery-Focused Activities

Clients can participate in substance use education, health education, and guidance on topics like HIV, hepatitis, and tobacco use. Life-skills development and employment counseling or training help clients prepare to return to work or school and manage daily responsibilities more confidently. Group work may include 12-step-based meetings, relapse prevention, and peer support.

Ongoing Care and Safety Planning

Care continues beyond the residential stay through aftercare, continuing care, and outpatient or intensive outpatient (IOP) services. Discharge planning, recovery support groups, mentoring, and self-help connections are built into the process. Naloxone and overdose education add another layer of safety for clients and families.
